Businessman robbed of Rs. 1.45 million in Greater Noida

Greater Noida, May 19 (IANS) A businessman was robbed of Rs.14.50 lakh cash in the Tilapta area of Greater Noida Tuesday morning, police said.

According to the police, Kesh Ram, 44 and his son Sunil Kumar, 23 were returning to their home in Sakipur area after withdrawing the cash from the Punjab National Bank (PNB) at Railway Road near Dadri, when four men on two motorcycles intercepted them.

The four armed criminals placed a pistol on the head of Kesh Ram who was sitting behind his son on the motorcycle and hit him with the butt of the pistol before snatching the bag containing the cash. Sunil was also beaten up when he tried to resist.

The four then fled. Kesh Ram and his son were admitted to a local hospital by some passersby.

The two later told the police they suspected the four had been following them, since they left the bank after withdrawing the money.
