    New Delhi, April 23 (IANS) The International Boxing Association (AIBA) is confident of roping in Indian corporates to buy a city-based franchise in its ambitious World Series Boxing (WSB)inspired by the Indian Premier League (IPL).

    AIBA dream project will attract both the professional and those amateurs who have turned professional after the Beijing Olympics, said WSB chief-operating officer Ivan Khodabaksh here Thursday while presenting the blueprint of the series.

New Delhi, April 22 (IANS) Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah Wednesday backed India to host the 2018 Asian Games in Delhi.

Delhi had narrowly lost the bid to hold the 2014 Asian Games to Incheon City, Korea.

Hong Kong, April 21 (DPA) Students and politicians in Hong Kong Tuesday hit out at comments by movie star Jackie Chan that Chinese people should be controlled and that too much freedom could harm China.

The “Rush-Hour” star sparked a growing controversy by saying at a business forum Saturday that freedoms had made Hong Kong and Taiwan “chaotic” and adding: “We Chinese need to be controlled.”

China rains aid ahead of Nepal PM’s visit

Kathmandu, April 19 (IANS) Ahead of Nepal’s Maoist Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s second visit to China next month, Beijing has stepped up its aid bonanza for its smaller southern neighbour, increasing development assistance by 50 percent.

From the earlier 100 million yuan (about $14 million), Beijing has upped its aid to 150 million yuan (over $21 million), Nepal’s state media said Sunday.
