BSF troopers in Kutch border posts get satellite phones
May 9th, 2009 | By Sindh Today | Category: Technology, UnCatAhmedabad, May 9 (IANS) The Border Security Force (BSF) troopers deployed at three outposts in the inhospitable Kutch region of Gujarat have been given satellite phones to keep in regular touch with their families, a Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) official said Saturday.
The state-run BSNL has provided the phones and the troopers can talk at a subsidised rate of Rs.1 per minute instead of the standard charge of Rs.49 per minute in the country, the official said.
