Hugh Jackman wants to get rid of sexy tag

London, Nov 2(IANS) Hollywood star Hugh Jackman who has been given the title of sexiest man alive on earth, wants to get rid of “sexy” image as soon as he can.

The “X Men Origins: Wolverine” star had topped People magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ poll last year and although he was delighted by the honour, the actor admits he is ready to pass the title onto someone else so that he can stop looking after himself, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Sienna Miller splits from boyfriend

New Delhi, Nov 2 (IANS) Mohit Chauhan, who enthralled music buffs with lilting melodies like “Masakali” and “Pehli baar mohabbat ki hai”, has come out with his solo album “Fitoor” and says it reflects “a slice of his life”.

“‘Fitoor’ in a way signifies my journey through the years. It’s a collection of 10 songs that I have written. It’s basically about what I have been experiencing,” Mohit told IANS in an email interview.

Big B’s grand plans to celebrate father’s 101st birth anniversary

New Delhi, Nov 2 (IANS) Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has big plans for the 101st birth anniversary of his father, well-known poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, on Jan 18 next year. Among other things he plans to re-release his father’s acclaimed book “Madhushala” and hold a dance recital.

“There are discussions on now on how to celebrate 101 years of my father’s birth anniversary. ‘Madhushala’ in its modern format shall be released, a journey of my father’s creative works shall be conducted through the recitation of his various works, a dance recital on one of his works,” Amitabh posted on his blog bigb.bigadda.com.

Mel Gibson’s girlfriend gives birth to daughter

London, Nov 2 (IANS) Mel Gibson’s girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva has given birth to their first child. This is the Hollywood star’s eighth child.

The baby girl was due in December, but was born Friday, reports thesun.co.uk.

Jackson film earns over $100 mn

New York, Nov 2 (DPA) Michael Jackson’s movie “This Is It” has grossed $101 million in its first five days in cinemas around the world, according to preliminary studio estimates issued Sunday.

Sony, the studio that paid $60 million for rights to the film, announced over the weekend that the originally planned two-week run would be extended in the US through the four-day Thanksgiving weekend, a lucrative holiday for Hollywood.

Jude Law torn between kids!

London, Nov 1 (IANS) Hollywood star Jude Law has revealed he is “torn” between his new daughter, Sophia, and his other three children with wife Sadie Frost.

The 36-year-old is keen to meet his five-week-old lovechild, Sophia, with US model Samantha Burke but wants to be sure his three other children are comfortable with the situation first, reports newsblaze.com.

Riya Sen makes Bengali film debut with Rituparno film

Mumbai, Nov 1 (IANS) Bollywood actress Riya Sen made her Bengali film debut with a small appearance in director Rituparno Ghosh’s film “Abohamaan”, which was screened here Sunday.

“I refused every offer I got for Bengali movies as I wanted to start my career in Bengali films with a Rituparno Ghosh film. I was waiting for the right opportunity,” said Riya.

Amitabh ‘gifts’ land to village council for girls college

Lucknow, Nov 1 (IANS) The controversy over Amitabh Bachchan buying agricultural land in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh ended when the Bollywood star ‘gifted’ the land to Daulatpur village council for building a girls college named after his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai.

Raj Kumari Singh Oct 27 complained to the district magistrate that though Bachchan in his 2007 letter to the Barabanki magistrate expressed his wish to gift the land to the village council, he had three years ago made the gift to an NGO to run the college.

New Delhi, Nov 1 (IANS) Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and social activist Anna Hazare are among several people who have urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to appoint the country’s first woman police officer, Kiran Bedi, as the Chief Information Commissioner (CIC).

Besides Hazare and Aamir Khan, Zee television owner Subhash Chandra and Magsaysay awardees Arvind Kejriwal and Sandeep Pandey have made the demand in letters to the prime minister.
