June 20th, 2010 SindhToday

Islamabad, June 20 (IANS) Pakistan’s intelligence agencies have warned the federal and provincial governments that terrorists might be planning a major attack on the country’s parliament and on prominent leaders to seek the release of their arrested colleagues.

Religious places of the minorities could also be targeted in a massive attack, similar to the ones on mosques of the Ahmadi sect in Lahore May 28, on the Jinnah Hospital in Lahore June 1 and the city courts in Karachi Saturday, Online news agency reported, citing sources.

According to the sources, provincial governments and other concerned agencies have been warned to ensure security as it is apprehended that the attacks would be a coordinated group activity possibly in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi and Multan.

The intelligence agencies have also recommended that hearings of arrested terrorists be held within the jail premises to ensure security.
