Zardari, Nawaz to meet today

ISLAMABAD : Leaders of major coalition partners will hold talks on the issue of deposed judges today (wednesday), Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said here on Tuesday. Gilani has said both the major ruling coalition parties are committed to the issue pertaining to restoration of deposed judges. “PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif are holding a meeting to discuss the proposed constitutional package on Wednesday”,he added.

ISLAMABAD : Minister for Finance, Syed Naveed Qamar on Wednesday proposed 20 percent increase in basic pay of all the federal government employees as well as the armed forces in the budget 2008-09.

In his budget speech in the Parliament House, he said that 20 percent raise has also been proposed in the pension of all civilian and military pensioners.
