Nokia with 41% handset market share

Nokia took the lead by taking whopping 41.1% share, up from 40.9% in the first quarter, shipping 122 million phones. Samsung followed with 15.4% share and Motorola holding third place with 9.5% followed by LG at 9.3% and Sony Ericsson at 8.2%.
According to research firm strategy Analytics, Apple had only 0.2% in the global market in the quarter as they are planning to launch iPhone 3G worldwide.

Separately, Strategy Analytics predict calendar Q3 iPhone shipments of 3.5 million units which can rebound its market share to 1.1% globally. They also added that lower price of iPhone 3G from its first generation phone could be affordable for mass market.iPhone is yet to be launched in China and India where it could give us different results in Q3
