Brothers foil robbery attempt

Ghaziabad, July 9 (IANS) Unidentified men on a motorbike attempted to rob two people of Rs.500,000 in Ambedkar Road area of Ghaziabad Thursday, police said.

The men – Ehsaan Ali and his brother Sirahuddin – were going towards their shop after withdrawing the money from Punjab National Bank at Ambedkar Road around 11.30 a.m. when two men on a bike came and tried to snatch their bag.

However, the brothers fended off the attack and the assailants fled the spot.

The brothers gave a written complaint at Kotwali police station. Superintendent of Police (City) – Rahul Yaduvendu said, “We are looking into the case. A case has not been registered yet.”

Ehsaan Ali and his brother Sirahuddin stay at Islam Nagar. Ehsaan reportedly works as a fruit vendor.
