US missile strike kills six in Pakistan
Aug 31st, 2008 | By Sindh Today | Category: Focused, PakistanIslamabad, Aug 31 (DPA) At least six people were killed and eight injured Sunday when a US missile hit a house in Pakistan’s tribal region along the Afghan border, officials said.
A single missile hit a house in Tapi village, some 15 km east of Miranshah, the main town in the district of North Waziristan, a security official said.
The official, requesting anonymity, said six people, including two women, died in the attack. A US drone was seen flying in the area after the explosion.
The house, which was completely demolished by the strike, belonged to Raees Khan, a member of the local Taliban organisation and a suspected facilitator of Al Qaeda operatives.
‘According to initial reports at least two foreign militants are among the dead,’ the security official said. Eight more people were injured in the blast.
It was the third US missile strike in the last two weeks in Pakistan’s tribal areas, which are known sanctuaries of Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters launching cross border attacks on US-led international forces in Afghanistan.
Four people, including two foreign fighters of Arab origin, died Saturday in a similar missile attack in neighbouring Waziristan.
Seven were killed Aug 20 when two missiles fired from a US drone destroyed a compound used by suspected Al Qaeda members.

Those killed are terrorist making the life hell for all Pakistanis. Pakistan can not easily control them even if it wanted to but it now appears that military is objecting the action against them. WHY ? Now Gilani had to back the military, so who is governing the country ? It is no secret that Pakistan needs the American money in plenty and without that Pakistan would be in economic misery. The Pakistani public had enough of these terrorist and criminal gangs. It is difficult to live normal life in Pakistan for there is no law and order. Pakistan should co-operate with West to get rid of these dangerious people and change its status from failed state to modern state. The American aid is not going to flow for ever even if we handover Taliban to Americans or not. But atleast let us have a normal Pakistan without these terrorist and be called civilised.
