Judges to be restored through resolution: Nawaz

DUBAI: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif said on Thursday after crucial talks with coalition partner Asif Ali Zardari that the deposed judges would be restored through passing a resolution. “It has been decided and reiterated that the restoration of the judges will take place as per the Murree declaration,” Sharif said after two days of talks with Zardari in Dubai.
“There is no ambiguity, there is no doubt about it. You will soon see the results of the discussions,” Sharif told reporters. “The committee has made substantive progress on this issue,” he said of the negotiators from both sides, who met at a Dubai hotel.
“The restoration will take place through a (parliamentary) resolution. The details will be revealed tomorrow … You wont have to wait too long.” Nawaz Sharif will fly back to Pakistan on Thursday evening, an aide said. Zardari, leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), left the negotiations before Nawaz Sharif, telling reporters only that the talks were meant to improve their relationship. “This is Dubai, no politics,” he said when reporters pressed him for an explanation.
NNI ADDS: Nawaz appreciated PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardaris role in addressing the matters at hand in a well manner. “We are satisfied with the outcomes of the talks and issues will be resolved in accordance with the Murree Declaration,” he added.
About the details of the negotiations Chief PML-N said the details would be released after reaching in Pakistan. To a question regarding fixing of a new deadline, he said the announcement in this regard will also be made on Friday.
On this occasion, Asif Ali Zardari said that he did not want to say anything to the media. However, he said, he wanted the coalition parties to stay united and this association should continue. Advisor to Prime Minister for Interior Rehman Malik and Federal Minister for Law Farooq Naek said “good news” would be announced soon.
Meanwhile, talking to a private TV channel PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari reiterated his commitment to Murree Declaration, adding there is no differences on the issues at hand. Asif Zardari said Nawaz Sharif is his leader and he (Zardari) will be able to say anything on the matter after Nawaz Sharifs news conference in Pakistan. “So far there have been no differences,” Asif Zardari said, hoping there will be no problems at a later stage as well.
