PESHAWAR (NNI): Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmed has disclosed that US wants to establish its military base in Bajaur.

Addressing a news conference here at Peshawar Press Club on Sunday, he said this hue and cry is the part of this game.

He said during one and a half hour meeting with Interior Adviser Rehman Malik, he conveyed his reservations regarding formation of Lashkar in tribal areas. He said the strategy of Lashkar would further destabilize the situation and the people become enemy of each other.

He said it is conspiracy about sowing seeds of hatred and enmity between the tribal people which is not in the interest of the country. He said USA will take benefit of the situation and will pave way for civil war in tribal areas.

Qazi Hussain Ahmed said that US is planning to shift its war from Afghanistan to Pakistan therefore it is destabilizing the situation in tribal areas.

He said if government is sincere in establishing peace it should have taken the local leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami into confidence and the result could be different.

He warned the government not to support US further and evolve policies according to the wishes and aspirations of the people.

To a question, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami said nothing was divulged in in-Camera meeting of the Parliament. He asked the government to desist from US war and crate harmony among the people
