May 15th, 2008 | By Sindh Today | Category: PakistanPESHAWAR : Parliamentarians belonging to tribal regions alleged on Thursday here while strongly condemning airstrike at Damadola in Bajaur agency, terming it an attempt to sabotage the ongoing peace talks between the Pakistan Government and the Taliban.
Holding the Nato led forces responsible for the attack they said the government should lodge a forceful protest against this inhuman act with the US Government. The demand to this effect was made at a press conference jointly addressed by MNA from Bajaur Agency Engr. Shaukat Ullah, MNA from FR Engr. Zafar Baig Bhittani and Senator from Kurram Agency Engr. Rashid Khan. They announced to take revenge of this dreadful action.
MNA from Bajaur Engr. Shaukat Ullah Khan said that attack amounted to challenging sovereignty of the country. He said all those died in the wake of strike were local tribesmen who also included women and children.
He said he has discussed this matter with the Governor NWFP who assured to take it up with the higher authorities in Islamabad.
The MNA denied the impression that the strike was carried out with the prior approval of the Pakistan Government and added that there were no foreign elements hiding in the tribal areas.
MNA from Frontier Regions (FRs) Engr. Zafar Baig Bhittani was of the view that Pakistan has no technology to stop the US forces from striking inside Pakistani territory.
He said US had committed a blunder by attacking Afghanistan and added that US would meet the same fate like the Britishers in Afghanistan. APP (Associated Press of Pakistan), 2008
