Nawaz, Zardari cant go together: Rashid

ISLAMABAD : Former prime minister and PML-Q central leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari couldnt go together as PPP-PML-N alliance is unnatural.

Talking to a private TV channel he said that Nawaz Sharif quitted the federal cabinet after less than two months of the government formation, predicting that very soon the PML-N would leave the treasury benches and would sit on the opposition benches.

To a question he said that the collation government had agreed to restore the deposed judges within a month of the government formation but the commitment was not fulfilled and May 12 was given the final date for the restoration of judges but again the deadline was expired without the positive results.

Sheikh Rashid said that the restoration of judges is a complicated issue and it couldnt be settled so easily, saying that the issue may create further distance between the PPP and PML-N. He said the PML-N would also join the lawyers movement for judges restoration which might also create law and order situation for the federal government.

To another query the former minister said that it was not possible to bring any constitutional package in the National Assembly as the budget session would start in a few days and no other business is taken during a budget session. NNI (News Network International), 2008

  1. Please send some rice to Burma affected with deadliest cyclone. In disaster times like this humanity should come first. I read somewhere that Pakistan has decided to release one million tons of rice for export. It is only natural to help those who have suffered through this natural disaster. During earthquake Pakistan was helped by many. Burma also requires help in cleaning the land for sowing of the rice as they are very poor country. No political scoring during disaster please.
