Aitzaz Ahsan decided not to contest in by-election
May 18th, 2008 | By Sindh Today | Category: Focused, PakistanLAHORE: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Aitzaz Ahsan on Sunday announced that he would not contest the by-elections for the NA-55 seat. He told during press conference that he has decided that he will not contest election rather he will give all his attention on the lawyers’ campaign for the reinstatement of the judges sacked on November 3 because “justice is not possible without their reinstatementâ€. Aitzaz said he had consulted lawyers and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership before his decision, and that he had informed PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari. He also claimed that conspiracies were being hatched in the Presidency against the sacked judges’ reinstatement. AAJ TV
