ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Government has officially announced to advance the clock by one hour at the stroke of Saturday-Sunday midnight to use more daylight time.
The move is one the measures announced by the government recently to save energy that also included closing shopping centres by 9 pm, earlier than the usual 11pm to midnight, from June 1.
The experiment with DST is not happening for the first time, as the previous government tried the same in 2002.
The decision was taken by the federal government to curtail power usage as the country is facing a massive electricity shortfall.
