No judges restoration before budget, predicts Babar

ISLAMABAD : Spokesperson of PPP, Farhatullah Babar has predicted that he didnt see restoration of judges before the budget, saying that work will be done on the constitutional package and it will be presented in the assembly after the passage of budget.

In an interview with the BBC he said that PPP would play its due role in making Shahbaz Sharif the chief minister of Punjab.

He said PPP is an ally of the Punjab government and would support its ally in the province. He said if the PML-N decides to replace Shahbaz Sharif as the chief minister the PPP members would support the move of the PML-N.

To a query Farhatullah Babar said that PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari congratulated him for becoming unopposed member of the Punjab assembly. He further said that as he was the future CM of Punjab, he (Asif Zardari) also congratulated him as the CM of the province. The PPP would play its full role in making him the Chief Minister of the Punjab and making the coalition government successful in the Punjab, he reiterated.

The PPP spokesperson said that the two major allied parties discussed coming budget in the meeting. The two sides also discussed the present situation in the country, especially the proposed constitutional package prepared by the Peoples Party.

He said that both the parties will nominate the members of their respective parties, adding that the names would be decided within next few days. This package will be presented in the parliament after the budget session. NNI (News Network International), 2008
