ISLAMABAD: PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Wednesday urged the coalition government to clarify its ‘confusion’ over the issues of national importance.

“You see, this is the budget session while the House is discussing Local Government System. This reflects the confusion of the coalition government. In my view, this session should have been discussing two primary issues - judges restoration and the forthcoming budget,” said the former federal minister while talking to the media here at the Parliament House.

Mushahid said that the government was also confused over the constitutional package.

“You know, the masses have given a clear-cut mandate to the ruling coalition so as they could deliver on issues and provide relief to the masses. But in my view, there is no basic change introduced by the government and every policy is being followed which had been introduced by the PML government,” he said.

To a query regarding the demand of resignation from President Musharraf, Mushahid urged the government not to target the president.

“The government should not adopt the politics of confrontation,” he added.

Commenting over the delay in judges’ restoration, the PML-Q leader quoted former Prime Minister and PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who had said that when important issues are forwarded to committees, this reflects that the government lacks its implementation.

“Now the judges’ issue has also been referred to a committee. I am afraid this reflects a negative omen,” he said and added that if the coalition government takes positive steps in larger public interest, the PML-Q would extend its support to the government. (APP)
