Pakistan PM, President meet today; PM Secretariat denies

Musharaf and GillaniRAWALPINDI: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Thursday met with the President Pervez Musharraf here at Army House situated next to President’s Camp Office this afternoon, Geo tv reported. However, the Prime Minister’s Secretariat denied any such meeting between the PM and President.

The meeting continued for one hour during which they exchanged views on FATA operation, political situation in the country besides economic crisis, sources said.

The sources further said that the meeting was held on President Pervez Musharraf’s wish.

Endorsing the operation in FATA, the President said the militants will neither be allowed to disturb the peace nor to take people hostage. He assured his full support to the government in this regard.

The meeting also discussed the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister to the US.On the other hand, spokesman of Prime Minister, Javed Akhtar denied any such meeting between the Prime Minister and President. geo tv
