Rule of law not too far off: Justice Iftikhar

KARACHI: Deposed chief justice, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Tuesday said the lawyers’ movement is aimed at ensuring supremacy of the Constitution and law and the time not far off when law of the land will rule in the country.
Addressing Malir Bar Association through telephone, Jusitce Iftikhar Chaudhry strongly condemned the killing of people and torching of lawyers’ offices including those of Malir Bar in Karachi on April 9.
He said the sacrifices being laid by the lawyers will not go in waste, saying the way lawyers fraternity is carrying forward its movement is laudable. “The day is not too far when law will rule in its true spirit in the country,†he added.
President Malir Bar Association, Mehmood-ul-Hasan also addressed the bar. (geo)
