Kashmala TariqISLAMABAD (APP): Eight members of the National Assembly (MNAs) belonging to former ruling party Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) boycotted from parliamentary party meeting on Thursday.

The rift emerged as MNA Kashmala Tariq was not allowed by the party leadership to speak in joint meeting of the parliamentary party of PML-Q and Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), sources said.

Rana Asif Tausif, Israrullah Tareen, Riaz Fatiana, Nasurullah Bijarani, Ehsanullah, Liaqat Bhatti and Noman Langryal also walked-out in solidarity with Kashmala Tariq.

Later talking to media, MNA Kashmala Tariq confirmed the rift and said she has reservations over Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat’s designation as the parliamentary party leader.

She was of the view that role of the opposition parties should be aggressive but her parliamentary party did not qualify the parameters.

“There are only four people making the decisions while rest of us have even been deprived of the right to express our point of view,” she added.

She demanded that Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat and Mushahid Hussain Sayed be removed from parliamentary party presidency and PML secretary general chairs, respectively.

The members claimed that they have support of some other MNAs and 26 members of Punjab Assembly have also assured them to join their like-minded group.
