LAHORE: The Social Democratic Party (SPD) parliamentary group has moved a resolution in the Berlin City Council requesting an avenue be renamed after assassinated former premier Benazir Bhutto, according to a report received here on Monday. Pak-German Council for Culture and Democracy President and SPD member Shahid Riaz Gondal submitted the application, which will be presented to the council on April 24. With the council’s endorsement, which seems likely, the case will go before the city’s Cultural Committee. If approved there, the resolution will be presented to the provincial cabinet, which has expressed willingness to approve Benazir Bhutto Avenue. daily times monitor
