London, May 5 (IANS) Quaid Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has urged people to join forces against terrorism and reiterated that Talibanisation is a conspiracy to break Pakistan, the Online news agency reported Tuesday.

Hussain, who lives in London in self-exile, has also reiterated his party’s support to the Pakistani government to overcome the challenges facing the country.

He was speaking to the media after meeting visiting Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari in London.

Hussain, who often warned of the dangers of Taliban spreading their wings in Pakistan, has urged the political and religious parties to set aside their differences and work together to defend the country.

Hussain said the country is passing through a crucial period and people have to come forward to save the country.

When asked about the recent violence in Karachi, he said, the land mafia, drug dealers and smugglers in collusion with the Taliban wants to capture Karachi.

He said he discussed the overall security situation, including the operation against Taliban in the country, during his meeting with Zardari.
