No danger of Talibanisation in Punjab, says governor

Lahore, May 19 (IANS) The governor of Pakistan’s Punjab province has said there is no danger of Talibanisation in the area.

Governor Salman Taseer said the situation in Punjab is under control and there is no danger of Talibanisation in the province, the Online news agency reported Tuesday.

He said the ongoing military operation in the Swat Valley will continue till its logical end (when the Taliban threat is neutralised) and urged people to help the Pakistan Army.

The people of the province are generously contributing to help the displaced civilians, he added.
