Women hostels in all Sindh districts

KARACHI: Working women hostels will be constructed in every district in the province.

 A sum of Rs 1,200 million has been allocated by the Women Development Department (WDD) Sindh for the purpose

This was stated by Sindh Minister for Women Development Ms Nadira Panjwani in a meeting with the Hyderabad Nazim Kanwar Naveed. She assured that her department would provide every assistance to Hyderabad District Government towards the construction of a working women’s hostel in Hyderabad.

The minister pointed out that the women who head towards bigger cities either in connection with jobs or for acquisition of knowledge, often face lodging problems. To address this problem, she added, the Sindh Women Development Department, had allocated a sum of Rs 1,200 million in its annual development programme. The amount would be utilised towards the construction of a working women’s hostel in every district of the province, Nadira Panjwani further remarked. She thanked the Hyderabad district nazim for provision of a plot for the construction of a working women’s hostel in Hyderabad and assured that the construction work would be initiated soon. The minister also assured that she would help solve the problems in connection with the establishment of a private university in Hyderabad and that in this connection she would also meet Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Prof Dr Atta-ur-Rehman.
