Karachi to have network of surveillance cameras: IG Sindh
May 10th, 2008 | By Sindh Today | Category: Focused, SindhKARACHI : IG Police Sindh Dr Shoaib Suddle on Saturday said that a number of proposals and initiatives are being planned to install video surveillance cameras throughout Karachi.
Karachi is a mega city with huge population and complexity and there is need to make use of modern technology to control crime in the metropolis, he told a press conference at CPO.
He thanked Federal Government, Provincial Government and the City Nazim for extending full support to us on this project.
He referred to plans for Police Information Technology and informed that four Major Police Information Technology projects are underway.
The projects already in the implementation stage include Police Record and Office Management System (PROMIS), E-Policing System in Sindh Automatic Finger Print Identification System (AFIS) and Nation Wide Integrated Trunk Radio Communication System. APP (Associated Press of Pakistan), 2008
