MQM to be given ministries in centre
Apr 2nd, 2008 | By Sindh Today | Category: SindhISLAMABAD: The decision has been taken regarding ministries being given to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in the centre.
According got the government sources, Pakistan People’s party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari convinced Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif to give ministries to MQM in the centre, to which Nawaz consented in favour of coalition government.
According to sources, MQM would be included in the cabinet in the second phase. PPP has already acceded to giving ministries and governorship to MQM.
MQM would be given two ministries in the centre, among them, the ministry of Ports and Shipping, which was given to Naveed Qamar and another ministry from PPP member possessing additional charge of the portfolios.
Talking to Geo News, MQM sources said they have not been told in this connection thus far.
