Arbab Rahim to be dealt with according to law: Pir Mazhar

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party Sindh Assembly Parliamentary Leader, Pir Mazhar ul Haq said on Tuesday that former Sindh chief minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim would be dealt with according to the law at the airport upon his arrival.

He stated that Rahim should have the moral courage to come back and face the people living in miserable conditions due to his policies. Rahim himself used to say that one should have the courage to face the law and that he himself should stick to his statements and return.

According to Mazhar, NAB is an organ for political victimization, which the present government has decided to abolish. He added that Rahim should not fear being victimized, as he will be dealt with according to the prevailing laws.

Mazhar said that Rahim left to perform Umrah and has taken important documents of the lands in Mithi and Karachi with him.

Mazhar also informed of an investigation to be made into the Sindh Revenue Board fire.

An independent judiciary will decide Rahim’s fate, said Mazhar also informing the media about telephonic contact with the MQM’s leadership. “If there has been reconciliation in other provinces then why not in Sindh? We don’t want to leave the MQM alone.”

In reply to a query, he said that all PPP members in the Sindh Assembly are in agreement and are bound to accept the central leadership’s decision to ally with any party.
