PPP will support PML-N in Punjab: Salmaan Taseer Punjab Governor
May 17th, 2008 | By Sindh Today | Category: SindhLARKANA: Salmaan Taseer, new governor of Punjab, said that PPP will co-operate with the PML-N in Punjab as it did in the past. He was addressing reporter at Garhi Khada Bux after he offered prayers at Zulifikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto’s graves.He said that he had been appointed with the consensus of PPP’s senior leaders and its co-chairman.
Taseer further said Punjab was a PPP stronghold and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will contest elections from Punjab after completing his education. Later, he told Express News there was no need for a countdown on the judges’ issue and the constitutional issue should be separated from politics. “There has to be some formula which is going to work in future also.” He told Geo News he had never said anything suggesting he’d overthrow a government.
