Kalabagh dam not suitable for Pakistan:Shazia Murree

Shazia MariLAHORE, May 30 (APP): Sindh Information Minister Shazia Murree has said that Kalabagh dam is not suitable project for Pakistan as it creates hatred among provinces. She was addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club upon his arrival with a media delegation, here on Friday.

PPP Lahore president Aziz ur rehman Chan, PPP Lahore information secretary Zikria Butt and other leaders of the party were also present.

The delegation arrived here to study the working of Punjab Information department and share experiences.

“Integrity of the country is much more important than a project as water issues can not be solved on the lives of people “, the minister observed.

Shazia said that media and government should work hand in hand to strengthen federation of Pakistan and eliminate, risks to it by bringing the people of all the provinces closer to each other and remove misunderstandings.

She said that media has to face lot of difficulties during last 9 years due to the undemocratic acts of previous regime.

The minister said that exchange of media persons and knowledge sharing are the best techniques to improve the situation and to strengthen federation.

Media should not restrict itself to the reporting only but it should step ahead to remove all types of menaces and crimes from the society.

She said that wage-board award for journalists is among important issues of the country and the government will discharge its responsibilities in this regard.

The minister said that Sindh province has always been cooperative in sharing resources under NFC award, adding, present leadership of the province will also play its constitutional role in this regard.
