Khuhro, Shehla take oath as SA Speaker, Deputy Speaker

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party’s Nisar Ahmad Khuhro and Shehla Raza have taken the oath as Speaker and Deputy speaker Sindh here today.
Both have been elected unopposed as Sindh Assembly Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively.
Outgoing Speaker Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah administered the oath of speaker whereas newly elected Speaker Nisar Khuhro administered the oath to deputy speaker later.
The session was delayed for 3 hours that was to be held at 9 am.
Security was beefed up and no one was being allowed to enter without checking passes. However, political workers managed to break into the Assembly building. People’s Party’s Nisar Khuhro filed 4 and Shehla Raza filed 2 nomination papers. No candidates from any other political party had filed papers for the slots of speaker and deputy speaker.
Nisar Ahmad Khuhro is the 14th Speaker and Shehla Raza 15th Deputy Speaker of Sindh Assembly. PPP candidate for the office of Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah is also likely be elected unopposed. geo
