Karachi: Chairman, Sindh National Front (SNF),Sardar Mumtaz Ali Bhutto, has expressed concern over the government’s apathy in filing a case for the arrest of the killers of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.

Six months have passed at the end of which the government has done nothing more than sending an application to the Secretary General of the United Nations, which has reportedly been placed before the Security Council, he said in a letter written to PrimeMinister Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani on Saturday.

Mumtaz Bhutto said, This means that vested interests will come into operation and the application will fade into oblivion. Even otherwise, we have seen in the Rafique Hariri case that results are not guaranteed. He said the Bhutto family and indeed the people strongly feel that merely raising slogans, naming hospitals, airports and bazaars after the Shaheed can not be substituted for action under the law, which should have been taken on the day of the murder.

A needle to say is that the case filed by the previous government is a farce, which no one takes seriously, he added. SNF chief demanded of Prime Minister to direct the relevant authorities to register a complain and launch an investigation to ensure the arrest and punishment of the killers. geo tv
