Sanjay Nirupam eliminated from ‘Bigg Boss’
Aug 22nd, 2008 | By Sindh Today | Category: Entertainment, IndiaNew Delhi, Aug 22(IANS) Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam, who made news for his conversations with the women participants of reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss’, was the first to be voted out Friday night.
‘I have enjoyed (the show) very much. I will meet you (all) outside,’ Nirupam told the ‘Bigg Boss’ housemates while leaving.
He was also seen hugging his new-found friends before making his exit. On coming out, he shared his experiences with host Shilpa Shetty.
He said: ‘The first few days I was missing my home and work, but since the past two-three days I was enjoying myself and had become comfortable.’
However, he admitted that he could not get along with everyone, though he struck a good rapport with comedian Ehsaan Qureshi and singer Debojit Saha.
Nirupam, who got as many as 10 nominations from other house members in the first nomination episode aired Monday, had expressed a desire to leave the house in front of his co-participants.
The politician was nominated along with TV actress Shweta Tiwari’s estranged husband Raja Chaudhry for his aloof behaviour.
Nirupam has created much controversy on the show in which 13 people, mostly celebrities, are required to spend three months closeted in a house sans any communication with the outside world. The winner will receive a prize of Rs.750,000.
On Wednesday’s episode, the politician told house-member Monica Bedi that he would help her get a house in Mumbai and in the following episode, he commented on item girl Sambhavna Seth’s ‘revealing’ style of dressing and profession.
He told Sambhavna: ‘A woman’s ‘izzat’ (self respect) lies in covering up her body. Since item girls have to dance in revealing clothes, why do you do such a job? Indian women are supposed to have a certain amount of shame.’
According to Sambhavna, when she came out fully dressed, Nirupam made a fresh dig at her saying: ‘My words have brought some change in you. I notice that you have started to wear fully covered clothes now.’
While leaving, he told Shilpa that he had never intended to make a personal remark on Sambhavna and that it was just a general statement.
On Thursday, when all house-mates were asked to take part in a paper dance, Nirupam refused to participate as he considered it ‘undignified’.
A vote-out nomination is held every Monday and a nominated contestant is evicted every Friday based on audience votes. The second season of the reality show began Sunday.

A person like Sanjay Nirupam should be kicked out of all the shows like biggboss. In fact he didnt deserve to be there i dont know how he entered there without any shame . He looks like a dragon he is too old and the way he was asking such stupid questions from sambhavna i felt like slapping him . He should better ask his daughter not to wear revealing clothes and why did he allow his wife to come with t shirt ? why didnt he ask her to come in sarees ? I think such kind of men are too conservative and they are too women type people tht they have fully focus on the dresses of the girls as much as they if possible will make them wear . Before biggboss i didnt know who the hell he was and now i dont want even to see his junky face as he is too ugly . He should better concentrate on his duty than what girls wear in india . These kind of moral police have just emerged like mashroom and they must be eliminated or they will eat this country and its new generation
