Rs.2.02-mn Mitsubishi Outlander drives into India

New Delhi, Oct 3 (IANS) Hindustan Motors and Mitsubishi Motors Friday launched here the Mitsubishi Outlander, a sports utility vehicle (SUV).

The Outlander is priced at Rs.2.02 million (Rs.20.2 lakh).

“The Outlander is making a debut in India after being a phenomenal success in the US, Japan, Australia, Canada and Western Europe,” a Hindustan Motors official said.

Company chairman C.K. Birla said the Outlander was launched in India ‘in keeping with the policy of offering the latest from the Mitsubishi stable to the Indian consumers”.

“This vehicle has all that needs to be a winner and will strengthen the Mitsubishi brand as the leader amongst premium SUVs,” he added.

Added Tetsuro Aiaawa, managing director (products, strategy and development group) of Mitsubishi Motors Corp: “The Mitsubishi Outlander is a proven and globally successful SUV and it’s a great pleasure to present the car in India.”
