People blockade roads, damage buses after Kolkata accident
Oct 11th, 2008 | By Sindh Today | Category: IndiaKolkata, Oct 11 (IANS) Residents of north Kolkata blockaded roads and broke windows of at least three buses Saturday morning after a private bus overran a youth Friday night.
‘About 20 people blockaded Khanna crossing near Shyambazar in north Kolkata Saturday morning and broke window panes and glasses of at least three private buses, demanding proper road dividers in the area after a youth was overrun by a private bus,’ said a police official at Lalbazar - the city police headquarters - here.
‘The situation is under control and traffic situation has normalised,’ he added.
The 21-year-old youth was killed at Khanna crossing, while the bus was trying to overtake another vehicle.
