Gujjars blocked railway tracks

Nearly 200 Gujjar woman blocked railway track near Shalawas, in Dausu districk on wednesday. According to reports that about 40 trains have been cancelled when the rail traffic got disrupted on route linking Rajasthan to other states. Security forces are keeping strict vigil in the violence-hit areas.

Deputy SP, GRP, Raghuveer Saini, who is camping in Dausa district, told TOI, around 800 Gujjar protestors including 200 women blocked the Jaipur-Delhi rail track with wooden logs, which resulted in the disruption of train traffic.

“The agitators demolished the track and pulled them apart,” he added. Around 23 Gujjar protestors including 12 women, who tried to create disturbance in Bandikui, were arrested on Tuesday and later released on bail.

Meanwhile, hundreds of agitators in Sawai Madhopur district resorted to blocking of the highway, linking
to Madhya Pradesh resulted in disruption of the road traffic.
