Pressure from Human Right groups and complaints from Union minister Renuka Chowdhury and National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), the Star TV has been told to stop the telecast of the episode depicting the Arushi Talwar murder case. There is also outrage widespread in internet blogs.

After meeting NCPCR member Sandhya Bajaj, I&B minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said, “Star TV officials met me and agreed to my request to withhold the telecast of this episode till the investigation is complete. They should not see TRPs in everything. We are a democracy and the ministry cannot interfere with the creative process of any scriptwriter or production company. But I urged the channel representatives to stop the telecast and they have agreed.”

Arushi’s mother Mrs Nupur Talwar had also complained against the dramatization of the episode. This is another occasion when blogger power has shown its potential. Many bloggers had threatened to stop watching Balaji Telefilms Soaps if they resorted to such unethical practices. The popular outburst against Balaji Telefilms may have forced it into submission.
