Violence in Kashmir on third day
Jun 25th, 2008 | By Sindh Today | Category: IndiaSrinagar, June 25: Kashmir remained paralysed against the killing of youth by Indian-military for three days in a row. The confilict started on the transfer of forest land to the Hindu religion group for building religious shrine. All shops and other business establishment in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir remained closed for whole day. It is also noted that no militant, separatist or pro-Indian group has called for the shutdown.
The shut down created problems for goverment and Semi-government’ employees to get to the work. All the educational institutions in Srinagar have been closed by the school managements.
The resentment is increasing among kashmiris as days are passing by. There is also common perception among ordinary kashmiris that Indian goverment is trying to settle hindus in Kashmir to change the Muslim character of Kashmir.
