New Delhi, Aug 3 (IANS) A 38-year-old businessman was stabbed to death by three unidentified assailants in northeast Delhi Sunday, the police said.

“Three unidentified masked men knocked on the door of Tasleems house early in the morning and when he opened the door, he was stabbed to death,” a Delhi police official said.

He was rushed to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

Tasleem, a resident of Bhajanpura area, ran a garment factory.

“He married a girl who used to work at his factory but he left her within a year. The girl had a lover who threatened the victim after the marriage,” the police official added.

The police suspected the lover, whose identity was yet to be ascertained, could be behind the murder.
