India stun Poland in U-12 football World cup

New Delhi, Sep 5 (IANS) India stunned Poland 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out in the under-12 Danone Nations World Cup football at the Mythical Stadium Parc des Princes stadium in Paris Thursday.

The match ended up 1-1 in regulation time, leading to a penalty shoot out in which Anubrata Maity, Tarun Sarkar and Subhendu Das struck for India.

India is at 4th place in Group C which also includes Spain, Italy, and Saudi Arabia besides Poland. India is being represented by Mohun Bagan in the competition.

More than 40 countries are participating in the prestigious tournament. The participating nations come through after a year of competition in over five continents.
