Report: Apple’s “blacklist” Kills iPhone applications
Aug 7th, 2008 | By Sindh Today | Category: TechnologyIt is the buzz of the day that Apple can kill any application running on your iPhone first generation or iPhone 3G. According to Researcher Jonathan Zdziarski, Apple installed a file in the iPhone’s firmware which could allow Apple contacting with apple server to remove any application remotely. He further said that the iPhone comes with application “blacklist†which gives control to Apple in killing certain applications on the iPhone.
Zdziarski cautions users from jumping on any conclusion and posted on his recent blog that “”We do not know whether this mechanism is active, or what exactly it does,” he wrote.
He further said “It might vaporize applications. It might simply prevent them from using the GPS. It might do nothing except upset the privacy advocates who don’t like their iPhone calling home.”
“For all we know, it could trigger world war three, or it could cause some computer somewhere to spit out recipes for buttermilk pancakes.” Said Zdziarski

Still Media is waiting anxiously to hear from Apple to confirm if it is true or it is just a rumor. As we know looking at previous records, Apple doesn’t comment on the rumors or unproved claims.
