Apple: iPhone Application Sales may reach $1 billion

If the same pace is continued , Apple could make $360 million additional revenue during the year, Steve jobs said during his interview with Wall Street Journal.
He further said that Application market may become $1 billion at some time in future. Apple usually gives out the 70% of the sales to developers and apple keeps 30% on the application running on iPhone. It means that developers earned $21million in the first month after the launch of iPhone 3G.
He also said that it helps in increasing value of other products like iPod or other future innovations.

“Phone differentiation used to be about radios and antennas and things like that,” said Jobs. “We think, going forward, the phone of the future will be differentiated by software.” Steve jobs said.According to Apple, Video games categories are the most used application on the iphone 3G at this time.
