ONLINE: A UK digital-advertising company that specialises in placing high-impact installations in vacant shop windows is set to open an office in Dubai – and branch out into a number of other territories.

According to Kenny McLean, director of Motomedia, progress is being made on several possible contracts in the Middle East following the putting in place of a licence agreement with the company’s local partners.

Advanced discussions are in place with two telecoms operators in the region, including the Saudi Telecom Company, which could use its windows to install Motomedia’s Streetlevel Billboards and Streetlevel TV. The company already has an agreement to install large-format screen demos in the Carrefour chain of hypermarkets in Dubai.

“Our expansion is based on a partner network,” McLean told SCREENS.tv. “We have partners going live in Beijing, Sydney, NYC, LA, India and so on. Indeed, we have started pitching locations we have in Beijing to the agencies for the Olympics.”

Back in the UK, Motomedia’s latest campaign (pictured) is going live near London’s busy Carnaby Street. According to McLean, the brief was one of the company’s most challenging to date, with a four-metre-wide projected interactive image designed to promote the U.S. television series Pushing Daisies.

The installation uses touch foil to allow users to “interact” with Anna, the show’s main character. According to McLean, when the screen is touched, Anna “gasps, comes to life and smiles. The background is a field of daisies that open as part of the sequence.” A central cloud graphic then displays a trailer for the programme.

Motomedia also recently went live with a Streetlevel Billboard in Philadelphia, including a bespoke interactive game that users can play through a shop window.
