11 Taliban militants killed in Afghanistan

Kabul, Oct 6 (Xinhua) The Afghan National Army (ANA) and NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) killed 11 Taliban militants and wounded five in a joint operation Monday in Daychopan district in southern Afghanistan, an official said.

Fazel Bary, the district chief, told Xinhua that ANA and ISAF launched a joint operation targeting Taliban activities early Monday morning.

‘With the assistance of air strike, the joint forces killed over 11 militants and injured five,’ he said.

No ANA or ISAF casualties were reported.
